The Airport is set to begin construction of a new air traffic control tower soon. The planning, design, and construction of the new tower is part of our vision for the future to provide a first class operation for our existing and future airline and air cargo operators.
The airport has an Automated Surface Observation System, an ASR-9 Airport Surveillance Radar, and a VOR located on the field. Two fixed base operators provide maintenance and fuel, and airside land is available for industrial development.

Missoula International Airport is located approximately four miles northwest of the central business district in the city of Missoula, Montana. Known as the Garden City because of our mild winters, Home of the University of Montana, Missoula is located in the mountain time zone, and has an elevation of 3,199 feet above sea level. Summer temperatures average in the upper 80's, and our average annual precipitation is a relatively dry 13.6 inches.
The airport is strategically located adjacent to several of the nations most heavily traveled transportation corridors, including Interstate 90 and Highway 93. Missoula is also a vital trucking and rail transit hub.
