Missoula Aviation Videos
Alright all you amateur photographers, here's your chance to get Missoula noticed. We need your aviation videos here at Flymissoula.com. Thanks to Youtube.com, we now have a great way to share videos of MSO with friends, family, and other aviation enthusiasts around the world.
OK, how do I get started? You'll need to have a device that can capture digital movies—this could be a camcorder or a digital camera! You copy the movies to you computer, edit them, and then you can upload them to Youtube.com. You’ll get the best quality using a digital camcorder which supports MPEG 4 recording at 30 frames per second.
How do I get my video on Flymissoula.com? It's pretty easy. After you shoot and edit your video, simply upload it to Youtube.com. You'll need to set up an account with Youtube, however it's free of charge and your video stays up until you decide to remove it. Once your video is online, send us an email with a link to the video and we'll do the rest. Include the photographers name, date filmed, location, and any other details.
What kinds of videos can I provide to Flymissoula.com? Let's keep it to Missoula and surrounding communities only, including the Bitterroot and Mission Valleys. As long as it's relatively close to home, aviation related, and entertaining, chances are we'll approve it, however we reserve the right to reject videos if we feel they are inappropriate for Flymissoula.com.
Do they have to be my videos? Yes, you have to have done the actual filming to own the rights to the videos you submit. If a family member or friend did the filming, that’s OK, but please don't send us a link to a video you found while surfing the web. We want these to be videos filmed by people with an interest in local aviation.
Are you looking for any particular videos? Yes, we need videos of approaches and landings to all of MSO's runways, night approaches and landings, night landing to Runway 11 with the approach lights on full intensity, airshows and fly-in's, Young Eagles events, major weather events, snowstorms, video from cockpits, video from airliners, skydiving videos, video from the control tower, aerial firefighting activity, etc.
Who can provide videos? Anyone. Aviation enthusiasts, pilots, airport employees, air traffic controllers, airline flight crews, FBO Line Tech's, flight instructors, or just someone who was at the right place at the right time.
Is there a limit to how long my video can be? Youtube.com limits videos to about 10 minutes, but we would ask that for Flymissoula.com, you edit your videos down to 3-5 minutes.
Can you edit my videos for me? Sorry, but we can't. We simply provide the links to the videos on Youtube.com. You will have to have your completed video up on Youtube.com before we can link to it.
Anything I shouldn't do? Don't do anything stupid. Don't go someplace you don't belong. If you're the pilot, let your passenger do the filming. Don't strap a camera to your wings. Things like that, pretty much common sense stuff. Do not try to email the video to us. You’ll have to upload the video to Youtube.com first, and then send us the link.
Anything else? We'd like some video genius to come up with a REALLY professional looking video. Take a look at that Regional Jet video in the menu above. We included it because it's one of the best out there, so we're challenging anyone out there to out-do that one. Edit together a cool video and set it to some good music.
OK, my video is on Youtube.com. Now what? Simple. All you need to do now is send us an email with a link to the video. Include the photographers name, date filmed, location, and any other details.
